Christine Talbot-Cooper is a music graduate who has been involved in the arts since her earliest years.Her past experience includes a post as Director of Music in a public school, with her teaching experience also including running a remedial English department in Liverpool, and working with modern dance. Christine has also been proprietor of a music shop, has composed music for the theatre, and has arranged touring art exhibitions. For a number of years she ran a large international agency which included many distinguished musicians, as well as the two artists she continues to work with. She has contributed to the work of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, both as Chairman of the local centre and on the Executive Committee. For many years she sang with the Three Choirs Festival Chorus and until recently continued to sing with a small chamber choir. She is now largely focused on running two musical charities, although art and poetry continue to feature when time allows.
Her present roles include that of Chairman of the historic Gloucester Music Society, which presents a wide variety of music, and is well-known for featuring much English music, including many world premières. The Society celebrates its 90th birthday in 2019!
In addition Christine is a Vice President and Administrator of the Piano Trio Society. In early 2018 the Society arranged the first Junior Intercollegiate Piano Trio Competition which was held at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and proved a huge success. This was later followed by the Senior Competition which attracted piano trios from around UK. Events are reported in the Society's Newsletter of which Christine is the Editor - another strand in a varied career!
